Growlers August Activity

How would you like the chance to become a Speedway photographer will now you can because this months Growlers activity is all about taking pictures. On Sunday 16th August at the A Plant Classic meeting all of the Growlers will become photographers for the day. Before the meeting each of the Growlers members will be taken individually round the pits with one of the Track photographers to take as many pictures as you like. We will supply you with a simple to use digital camera so you don’t have to spend 2 hours reading an instruction manual. The photographers will give you ideas for photographs but ultimately is up to each one of you to snap away. We will even try and get the riders to smile for you. You might want to capture a candid shot of a rider, this means that they do not know you are taking the photo or take some close up shots of the bikes or even the mechanics getting the bikes ready.

The next day I will edit all the photos and put together each of your top 4 photos on to a montage print at 10 x 8 size, these will then be e-mail to our star judge to pick the top three. Who could we get to judge a top completion like this well none other than the Speedway Stars Chief Photographer, Mike Patrick? Mike has been taking Speedway photos for over 40 years and is a veteran of over 100 Grand Prix. Mike will pick his top three and maybe add some comments.

After the completion is finished each of the Growlers will receive their montage print along with a CD with all of their photos from the day, there will be no charge for this as all the materials will be donated my me.
